PUDDLETOWN

For most people rain means a gloomy day. Here in Portland, rain is a fact of life. It makes us who we are. Puddletown is a group show featuring a bunch of really great artists giving their take on rain. Opens at Compound Gallery Thursday December 4 at 7pm.

Caldera Art Auction

Last night was the Caldera art auction. Caldera is an organization in Portland that helps at risk youth through art programs. Caldera was founded by Dan Wieden from Wieden & Kennedy. I'm down with art helping kids. We donated two paintings to the auction. Big thanks to Mhak and Oeil for giving up the art for a good cause. Your karma is now at 110%. For more information go here.... http://www.calderaarts.org/

American Art

We vote by mail in Oregon. I have had my ballot for more than a week. I have filled it out, but have not sent it in. I just like to stare at it. It feels good to participate in history.

New Home from Weenie

Weenie made me a new home. The orange plane dropped goldfish into a bowl at my new house. The Obama sign is a nice touch.

Portland Night

Just back from Tokyo. Last night was first Thursday. We have three amazing artists in from Japan. Ina Takayuki, Kaz and Gakiya. It was tight getting everything up and ready. We just got back from Tokyo the morning before. Portland Night was amazing. I want to thank all of our friends who came out to support us. The good news........ We will be producing two Portland Nights in Tokyo next year. I am super excited to make this project grow and grow. The media surf crew were incredible hosts. The standouts were Kurosaki san and Matsui. The challenges of promoting and producing an art show in a foreign country are numerous. In the end it was more than worth it. I can't wait to do it again. Here are a few pics. I will update the compound website this weekend with all the photos. Check back.
